Ten Ton Blues
Well I have these dreams at night
Where the world is gonna end
Cuz you know it's gonna happen
It's just a case of when
And you'll wake one early morning
To the streets full of armed men

I see it all in slow motion unfolding on the rolling news
You can feel the tension growing and then somebody lights the fuse
It don't matter who pulls the trigger first cuz everybody here is gonna lose
If you think it's getting heavy now, I got the ten ton blues

There's sirens across the city like a constant screaming sound
And there's fires spreading quickly and smoke for miles around
They won't be sweeping sawdust to cover all the blood spilled on the ground
There's no method in the madness when the bombs come raining down

Am I the only one that sees what's really going on?
Am I the only one that sees what's really going wrong?

With guns and ammunition and funds from the CIA
They interrupt the transmission cuz the missiles are on their way
And hindsight's 20/20 but foresight never seems to pay
They won't be wheeling out the marching band at the cenotaph for this someday

Am I the only one that sees what's really going on?
Am I the only one that sees what's really going wrong?
